Frequently Asked Questions

How does it work?

Drag Set Go is a precision tool that the user attached to the end of the fishing line by either tying directly to the built in loop or tying a hook, lure, etc. to the line and then connecting that to the loop, then following the prompts adjust the tension on the drag of the reel until the desired level of tension is achieved. Once the drag is set, remove Drag Set Go from the line and proceed to set the drag on the next reel. Once done, store in the provided carrying case until the next use.

How often should I set my drag?

The drag should be set on every reel before use on the day of fishing, then again after every fish that pulls significant line from the reel. This is necessary as the drag on the reel may change due to the temperature of the drag components in the reel heating up.

What are the main ways to use Drag Set Go?

There are 4 main ways to use Drag Set Go: Pulling line directly from the reel, attaching Drag Set Go to a rail or other stationary object via the included lanyard and pulling up on the rod like pulling up on a fish, having a friend hold Drag Set Go by the included lanyard and pulling up on the rod lick fighting a fish, or placing the rod in a secure rod holder and pulling down on Drag Set Go. See video instructions to see these 4 actions for more information.

What is the preferred way to set the drag of these 4 ways?

Any of the 3 ways that pull the line through the rod are preferred over pulling directly from the reel, as the rod guides tend to increase the drag. If that method must be used it is recommended to set closer to the 25% range.
